African Heritage · Italian Soul
Where the bold, fire-kissed soul of West African cooking meets the timeless elegance of Italian cuisine. Every plate, a journey. Every gathering, a celebration.
Cooking has always been a gift — one that revealed itself at just 8 years old. Born and raised in Cameroon, and brought to the USA at age 12, food became the thread that connected two worlds.
That gift was nurtured by two extraordinary women. My great-grandmother, Maria Dibo Sona, whose kitchen was a place of warmth, tradition, and love — and my grandmother, Elizabeth Nsume Sona, who continues to inspire with her secret ingredients and timeless techniques that no recipe book could ever capture. I had the deep privilege of living with them both, learning from them, and carrying their legacy into every dish I prepare. The unique flavors you taste in our food are a living tribute to them.
Over a decade of working in major U.S. restaurant chains — from cook to waitress to management — added professional discipline and excellence to that heritage. Flavors Without Borders is the culmination of it all: family tradition, lived experience, and a deep love for bringing people together at the table.
The Egusi soup brought me right back home to Cameroon. Every single bite was pure comfort and love. This food is the real deal.
She catered our corporate event and everyone was blown away. The salmon and the stuffed artichokes were absolutely outstanding. We'll be booking again!
I've never tasted jollof rice like this anywhere in Florida. You can taste the love and the heritage in every dish. My whole family keeps talking about it!
